Attributive adjectives

We have seen plural forms of nouns throughout the A1 and A2 course, but we haven’t learned to use these with attributive adjectives

When we use a short monosyllabic adjective: àrd, geal, mòr, beag, with a plural noun, we add a vowel to the end.

There are the same rules for plural nouns, both feminine and masculine:

  • which end with fuaimreag leathann (a broad vowel: a, o, u): faclan, beanntan, taighean, cèicean
  • which end with fuaimreag chaol (a slender vowel: e, i) : òrain, coin, èisg
