Structair: cuir ort do bhrògan

Structure: put on your shoes

When telling someone to put something on or to take something off, we use cuir. This is the imperative or verbal root. Basically, it’s the form you use to issue instructions to people. To put something on we use air or a prepositional pronoun formed of air, and to take something off, use cuir with the preposition de or a prepositional pronoun formed of de (off). We will use dhìot (off you) in this topic, but we will go over the full range later in SpeakGaelic.

Ort
Ort = air + you
dhìot = de + thu
