Structure: put on your shoes

Structair: cuir ort do bhrògan

When telling someone to put something on or to take something off, we use  cuir . This is the imperative or verbal root. Basically, it’s the form you use to issue instructions to people. To put something on we use  air  or a prepositional pronoun formed of air, and to take something off, use  cuir  with the preposition  de  or a prepositional pronoun formed of de (off). We will use  dhìot  (off you) in this topic, but we will go over the full range later in SpeakGaelic.

Ort
Ort = air + you
dhìot = de + thu
