Rach | Thig
Rach | Thig
We've learned that we follow a' dol and a' tighinn with the word a (a form of do (to)), followed by a lenited verbal noun.
But we also need to use a + lenition when we use the verbs rach (go) and thig (come) in all their tenses:
Chaidh Iain a shnàmh.
John went swimming.
Thàinig Eilidh a chèilidh oirnn.
Eilidh came to visit us.
Rachainn a thadhal orra.
I would go to visit them.
An rachadh tu a shreap ann am beanntan nan Alpannan sa gheamhradh?
Would you go to climb the Alps in winter?
